Georgia May Jagger, a Chanel Girl

After seeing Georgia May Jagger , daughter of Mick Jagger & Jerry Hall, appeared in the Chanel Cruise 2011 Show I mentioned before, it may also be another surprise to us that Karl Lagerfeld choose Georgia May Jagger, to front the accompanying photos for the collection. And these were shot in a studio in the background of greenery and mountains, instead of the real backgrounds.

I admit that Georgia is a pretty girl, but she looks like a little girl in the pictures above. I think the kind of women who can afford Chanel are much older than the young ones to promote their collection.

At that Chanel Cruise 2011 Show , she was the centerpiece, outshining even the Victoria’s Secret model Karolina Kurkova. First she was attractive in a sheer cover-up and one-piece swimsuit teamed with thigh-high cream leather boots with signature flower embellishments. Then she rode on the back of a motorbike when wearing a high-neck Seventies-style fringe dress with another pair of thigh-high boots. At last she appeared gold bikini top and classic frayed tweed jacket with high-waisted brown bell-bottoms. Maybe her appearance is just as rebellious as her father once was, but she was pleased with herself as the pictures shows.

Chanel Coco Cocoon Collection with Vanessa Paradis

Last year, Chanel invited Lily Allen to model its Fall and Winter 2009 Collection, but this year, they choose Vanessa Paradis, French singer, model and actress as the new face to attend Chanel’s new Chanel Cocoon handbags in the Spring 2010 campaign. Actually Vanessa Paradis was not strange to the Chanel, and in 2004 Karl Lagerfeld appointed her as the ambassadress of the “Ligne Cambon” handbags.

This new campaign was shot by Karl Lagerfeld who was glad to collaborate with Vanessa Paradis and praised her that she is wonderful and looks natural and be harmony all round her before the studio. This campaign has signature padded style we like and takes the inspiration from the gentle feel of a blanket in soft calfskin with the diamond-shaped quilting.

The Chanel Cocoon handbags in this campaign include wallets, toiletries cases, wheeled bags, backpacks and totes in a variety of sizes and colors (black, cobalt blue, charcoal grey, light grey, silver, chocolate and ivory). They are reversible and features nylo, lambskin or washed and textured calfskin, and matt-finish alligator skin, All of which look elegant and luxurious and give a comfortable and soft touch.

Fantastic Chanel Cruise 2011 Show

QQ截图未命名1.jpg

Again Chanel had its rich fashion moment recently. Set on the French Riviera in Saint Tropez, Chanel Cruise 2011 Show reflected the 70s’ throwback party atmosphere which resembles Karl Lagerfeld’s 17-minute short film “Remember Now“.

As the sun went down, the girls arrived by the speed boats and were ready to start their show. People hanged from balconies and windows above or sat on the red director’s chairs to enjoy this fantastic time in the newly made catwalk. Just as what Karl Lagerfeld said, it is a natural place, not a bling-bling place. The lightness of the 60’s inspired pieces may bring you back to a time of freedom.

Natasha Poly in a pastel print dress was the first one to begin this show. And then there were so many girls appeared in this show. As we had suspected, plus-size model Crystal Renn attended, and Karl Lagerfeld gave her three outfits, the first in a fuchsia cardigan with a bleached denim mini-skirt and thigh-high black boots, the second in a black-and-white one-sleeve one-piece and the final one in a sandy ruffled blouse with ankle-length loose trousers. All of them were suitable for her and matched well.

I think the high tide of this show is Lagerfeld’s bodyguard Sebastien Jondeau pulling up on a motorcycle with Georgia May Jagger on the back. At last, Lagerfeld appeared in a purple jacket.

Chanel Gowns in 2010 Costume Institute Gala

The Costume Institute Gala Benefit was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art last week and I would like to put it above the Oscars, for I think it is one of the most lavish and exciting events and ladies are trying to show their fashion than any other award shows. Here I would like to choose two of them to say, the best and the worst.

I like the ensemble of American Vogue editirix and super scary fashion person Anna Wintour. She has been personally dressed by Karl Lagerfeld for every year. And this time she was wearing a light silver ruched Chanel gown which I think is a great choice for her and a structured metallic overcoat which adds a Victorian aura to her whole outfits. I should also mention the chunky mixed metal necklace and she looks great in them.

Kristen Stewart is on my worst, for she was wearing a black taffeta and tulle embroidered Chanel gown which belongs to Chanel Spring 2008 Couture Dress. Though this gown belongs to Chanel, personally I do not like it, especially the pointy neckline. She matched it with Sergio Rossi heels and a Chanel clutch.

The Secrets of Chanel Bags

Chanel has become an iconic brand and the desire for many women for more than half a century. Like Louis Vuitton and Gucci have released some designs which combined the storied pasts with the modern elements, Chanel also tried to achieve these.

From this Saturday the 8th to Sunday the 16th, Chanel will announce its 57th Street flapship store and hold an exhibition “The Secrets of the Chanel Handbag“. I think it is a great opportunity to get to know more details about Chanel, if you are in New York City, drop and have a look.

Chanel-Handbag-Exhibit.jpg

As we all known that Mademoiselle Chanel first introduced her timeless shoulder bag in 1929, and then she did not continue his idea until the bag, commonly known as the 2.55, are created in Feb,1955. In this exhibition, Chanel fashion house will demonstrate the construction and history of the iconic purses to shoppers as well as Chanel owners. It will explain how your dreamy bags are built and how they’ve changed over the past half a century as well as some present Karl Lagerfeld’s designs. This is not an ordinary history lesson, for you will definitely appreciate the price tag way more after your visit.

Timeless Classic Chanel 2.55

Many handbags which were once popular in the fashion tide have disappear, while some classic are everlasting, and Chanel 2.55 is just this type which are the necessary collection and pursuit for every woman, as bag to woman is like automobile to man acting huge magic.

Launched in February 1955, Chanel 2.55 is well-known for its simplicity and elegance and still remains stylish as it was launched more than 50 years ago. There is a long story to describe the original 2.55. It features the 2.55 front lock on the front, named “the Mademoiselle Lock“, is different from the classic double CC logo and the lining’s brown color which shows the color of the uniforms from the convent where she grew up. As Coco Chanel liked to hide her love letters from her lover at that time, there is a zippered compartment at the inside of the front flap. And Ms Chanel stashed extra money at the back outside flap on the handbag. That is why she designed this kind of handbag.

In fall 2005, Karl Lagerfeld re-released the Chanel 2.55 in order to celebrate its 50th anniversary, and the new design feature a turn clasp instead of the CC clasp which is more appealing.

Reviewing Distinctive Chanel Karl Lagerfeld’s Bag

Chanel Karl Lagerfeld’s Bag was released last year and belongs to the Chanel spring and summer 2010 collection. When I first saw this bag, I was amazed and surprised at its design that Karl printed his own figures on the bag and I have to admit that it is a interesting and fantastic handbag.

Though this bag is made in a simple way, it has intelligent design and special quality sense. It features a black and white tote with Karl Lagerfeld’s headshot printed on the front. What is more interesting is that its handles are the finishing touch which are placed on his ski goggles or his significant sunglasses.

In the fashion show, the model Angela Lindvall got to understand the essence of his bag, performing the best of its handbag. Look at the above picture, she is putting the touch on her face and peering through the handles. In this case, this bag seems to be her mask, making the whole show with her new fashion sense.

I think this bag is not suitable for daily use and could only as a classic collection, for the Karl Lagerfeld’s figure was printed on it and I do not always want to take him with me.

Karl Lagerfeld Caricatured by Alexsandro Palombo

karl-by-alexsandro-palombo-4

Whew!!! This is the most creative and funny image of our fashion daddy Karl Lagerfeld. But I just don’t know whether Karl himself would be glad to see those pictures or not. Cuz the behind illustrator is Alexsandro Palombo, who is famous for spoofing the hot stuff in fashion world or the other fields. In his past works, you can find “Calvin Klein swinging through the air like Tarzan, the Queen of England in harlequin leggings and fashion critic Suzy Menkes posed with both a cat and a chicken. Above, David Letterman gets frisky with Anna Wintour”. Well, he is indeed the Kuso Guru.

This time Alexsandro has brought us Karl’s Journey in his second book of illustrations. It’s a story about the journey of Paris by Karl before he steps up to UFO. Feasuring our familiar impression of Karl—significant pony tail, sunglasses, and upright form, this series of pictures not only reflect Karl’s preciseness, but also show his irresistible charm. It seems that our bitter tongue is not that scandalized at this similar cheeky designer. “If you are feeling disappointed in the world and can no longer find the will to dream or unleash your imagination, don’t be sad, just turn your attention to the delightful Karl Lagerfeld and he will be able to show you more than one way to do so”, Palombo says in his blog. Aha, words end and pictures start…
