It’s said that all the origins lay with the Mercer Hotel in New York.

On a rainy morning two years ago, Karl Lagerfeld met his heroine of architecture in his heart—Zaha Hadid at the hotel. And none of us could have suspected that this chance meeting produced an unprecedented result that never seen before—a movable musuem.

This masterpiece proposed by Karl and designed by Zaha is called Mobile Art. Peculiar shape and lump-joining structure—the musuem itself is a piece of chic art. And its eco-friendly concept of being detachable ensure that it can travel to anywhere in the world. Just like the Nomads have no fixed homes but move from region to region to secure their food supply, Mobile Art also would sail with its owner from pole to pole, showing its top mixed crossover and top artistic value.

Their journey of Art & Architecture will last two years. Starting from Hong Kong, this stylish “UFO” will drop in on Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Tokyo, Moscow and London. Wow, lucky dogs in those countries are going to enjoy a visual feast…really envy them…

I think every girl all over the world is crazily dreaming to be the “Karl Lady”. It’s Chanel, don’t you know the superb enticement to us?! Obviously, the latest favourite of Karl—Lily Allen has become the eyesore of the other women. Just think it back: in Chanel new released Cocoon series of bags, this little fatty looked so elegant and gorgeous in the ads. How can we stop the jealousy…
That’s not enough. Recently in the show of Chanel Spring/Summer 2010 collection, our fashion daddy Karl also gave a passport to her to “Caper the caper, sing me a song”. Oh, we are all “ angels” but with different fates. Huhuhuhu~~~~(>_<)~~~~

Look at this totally lucky dog, wearing a shining gold mixed silver skirt with the faddish sequined shoulders embellished by some feathers or sprouting, she dressed herself up as a pop star with both rockin and sweet styles. Well matched with black opaques, two-tone tights, gloves in the same suit and heels, if not her, who else would be the most stunning lady there? So it’s no wonder two poor models even only played the role as Lily’s back up singers. The song she sang is “Not Fair”, which is said to be the one of Karl’s favourite by chance.
However, the background set—a barnyard with full pastoral sense seems to be a little out of the place. Like a cottage Grammy live show, no offense, just the mixed trend thundered me a bit…(⊙o⊙)…

To be honest, I am not willing to use this phrase to describe Karl Lagerfeld, although he is really the old bad boy in the fashion world. But this time he seemed to overreach. Like a faulty expression in writing, those so-called clogs appearing on the Chanel Spring/Summer 2010 Collection truly suck. Well, my dear fashion daddy, in order to emphasize that agricultural workers could be also glamorous, you let a giant hay barn in the centre of the Grand Palais as the setting, who cares… However, why the hell did you allow such kinda ugly werid difference to step on Chanel’s stage?!

OK, the farmers might be willing to see some day in the future they could look so gorgeous and elegant as the tall models dressing in flowery soft clothes with silk ribbons, but wearing the clogs, OMG, are you kidding!!!! I would rather die than bear the torment from those stubborn monsters. I could understand the financial crisis possibly( absolutely impossible~ ) affect you more or less, er, but do you have to do shoddy work and use inferior materials, really?! Despite of their absolutely heavy weight, they only to remind me of the famous Napoleon in foreign history, who was too short, with the need to wear high-heeled shoes. I could not remember his figure clearly but the only thing left in my memory is that the shoes on his feet looked similarly ugly as the clogs now. Oh, poor farmers, please forget about the clogs, and the cowboy boots should be more suitable for you. Anyway, love them or hate them, that’s Karl Lagerfeld, who is unreachable…

Uha, if you have gotten angry with Karl Lagerfeld for the clogs in my last post, I can offer you an effective way to help you calm your anger. Right, this Tokidoki x Karl Lagerfeld mini doll. You can bring it home and “play with” him as you wish…Look at this small cool guy, its feature is so vivid and almost the same with Karl. Dressing up with a dark black suit, this only 10” tall Karl also remembers to wear his significant remarkable sunglasses, whose even the camber of the lips resemble a chip off the old block.
Designed by the famous toymaker Tokidoki, this limited version of Mini Karl will be only 1000 figurines, and it retails at $185. The overall black and white monochrome appearance, in some extent, has not much difference as an accessory out of Chanel. On the base there is a sample symbolizing the two top stylish brands, what a strong combination! It’s said that this Mini Karl will also appear on T-shirts in next spring’s K collection. Er, Karl is always the spotlight, for he designs himself, and even now he has become the popular inspiration used by more and more designers in their creation. Ohhhh…what a bright future the Chanel definitely will have…

I gotta say, I have to admit that by all accounts, he is everywhere… Teddy Bear, sporting goods, the Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel Brands owned by him etc. That guy, does he need a rest?
Let’s look back upon the former works of our gramp, during Karl’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection, there is an interesting designer bag. Well, it’s true many famous designers or celebrities such as Paris Hilton have printed their own figures on the bags, and they are really well designed. But this one, I think it’s more ingenious.

It features a black and white tote with Karl’s pixelated headshot printed on the front. However, that’s not enough. The handles are the finishing touch, which are exactly placed the his ski goggles or his significant sunglasses. And the model Angela Lindvall has mastered the essence of this clever bag, who let her show perform the best of Karl’s creation. Look at her, she is walking on the runway peering through the handles. The bag appears like a Karl’s mask, it has made the whole show with his new fashion sense.
Although this bag is made in simple way, it’s just due to its intelligent design and special quality sense that has given the zest to this bag. So it could not be cheap, it’s price tagged $ 1900 exclusively for sale at Colette.

It seems the truth that when someone is overly fond of something such as music, he/she would become picky on instruments. Don’t refute me now, just think of it. If you are a famous skilled pianoist, would you like to perform your wonderful music with an ordinary or even lame piano? I bet your answer is no. So it’s not surprising that every company is trying their best to make the top instruments with top look and quality.

And what I’m going to say is that Chanel dwell upon customer psychology already to “seizes every opportunity” the situation. Yep, Karl has been up to his tricks again…Inspired by the famous work of Picasso—The Man Playing Guitar, he designed the black and white versions of Chanel acoustic guitar and made it stand out in the Spring Summer 2009 collection. This luxurious guitar, which made from the spruce wood with a wide guitar strap in brown, black and white stripe embellished by the CC logo on the sound hole and leather detail, also comes with a quilted calfskin guitar case also available in black and white especially created by Karl. Right, totally amazing and fabulous charm of Chanel classic monochrome.
Can you guess out the price? Aha, please visualize it… Let me tell you—the guitar retails for $5450 and the guitar case for $11500. So I am wondering who will be the lucky dog( or unlucky fellow) using that guitar, and the price is possibly beyond the fee for showing up. And Karl Lagerfeld explains it: “Coco Chanel had an affair with Stravinsky, mine was with a guitar!” LOL…I could just see the Kaiser playing this guitar to wee Kaiser and singing him a German lullaby. I am waiting for the Chanel Harmonica.

Recently I am so busy, even could not go to sport. Then I really miss the days in my campus life when I could do any kinds of sports in my spare time. But I bet most people often ignore one kind of sport–fishing. Actually, going wild fishing to feel the natural beauty is a wonderful way to relax. Coco Chanel was also a keen angler who honed her skills while dating the Duke of Westminster in the 20s.

Chanel, who lived at the Paris Ritz for more than 35 years, once struck up a conversation with the owner, Charles Ritz, about her inaugural fly fishing trip to the river Alta in Norway with the Duke. “Never having fished before, I was most anxious,” she admitted. “She need not have worried,” wrote Charles Ritz in his autobiography. “One of the Duke’s friends, who always joined him on the Alta, was a famous fly fisher. Coco explained her problems to him and received the soundest possible advice suggesting that she should draw inspiration from the sky. ‘When it’s clear and bright, tie on a Silver Doctor. When dark and overcast, use a Black Doctor’ … As a result, on several occasions she landed more salmon than His Grace.”
So with this background and the cash cow Karl Lagerfeld, there is not great surprise to the advent of this Chanel fly-fishing rod for $20,000. The Chanel rod is scrupulously tied with monochrome Chanel flies and renowned CC logo on its gossamer wings. The flying rod comes packed in a quilted black leather box. I really adore the CC logo hook, so cute and stylish. Karl, as expected, deserves to be called the commercial racketeer. To him, we all have a mix of love and hate. If you still ample cash flow, then you are fully capable of participation in some luxury goods consumption. At last, advance to wish all of you happy National Day and just go fishing with this stylish fly-fishing rod if you can.

In recent days, Karl Lagerfeld, who is regarded as the fashion guru by all the people, has become the hot-seating. I know he is always hot no matter when and no matter where, but this time his considerable fame doesn’t go to his documentaries or some new interview, instead, it owes to a simple plain white canvas bag carried by him very often.

What on earth does make this white canvas bag so different and popular? I think most of you have seen the Anya Hindmarch’s “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” or Longchamp’s ironic “It Bag”, then following in the footsteps of them, this simple white bag with painted print of “Karl Who?”, successfully has translated a whimsical sense of humor that is only so funny because it is so rhetorical.
By that token, questioning one’s own identity might just become the next trend! Karl Lagerfeld calls this next bag-hot-track: the psy bag. Like having a quiet, honest dialogue with yourself or a monologue, it’s part of emotional healing but it’s more than that. “I find it flattering,” Lagerfeld told WWD from the front row at Dior Homme yesterday. “Somebody offered one to me and now Colette has picked it up.”

The bag, designed by Naco-Paris, is not yet available online from the French boutique – but all eyes will be trained on the website for its Lagerfeld-approved release. The good news is that so far the “Karl Who?” t-shirt and tote are available as well, pretty fresh and funny.

Fashion brands with fully famous reputation in the world are all constantly puruing unique modes to raise their presence felt in propaganda. And in this aspect, Chanel, the passed master, has never failed in bringing us the fangles.
Have you still remembered the bicycle that was posted previously in just few months ago? Well now, there is another new surprise on the march. Last Friday, Karl Lagerfeld was shooting the press kit for Chanel’s pre-spring collection ,”Starting Point”, at the Chanel boutique on Rue Royale in Toulouse, France. He used sexy models Lara Stone and Baptiste Giacobini. There was also a special custom Chanel motorcycle. However, the motorcycle won’t be commercialized for sale.

It’s said that this motorcycle will reminds you of The Wild One driven by legend Marlon Brnado which was also designed by genius Karl Lagerfeld. And since now Lagerfeld has been already a big name, representing eternal oddly creative originality. Don’t get your hopes up though kids, this little toy won’t be popping up in your local Chanel boutique anytime soon.
And to be honest, this fashion product looks not too bad. Apart from the ghastly logo on the pipes, the overall elegant shining black, although without any accessories, it’s still low-keyed cool. As to the function, I couldn’t guarantee it. What’s the hell, any fashion just works as the entertainment to people. I’m just a passerby…
