Chanel 2010 Paris Haute Couture Show

Chanel has had its Haute Couture Show in Paris recently. It is known that Chanel signatures are black, ivory, suits, camellias, but this couture collection of graphic white and silver was a surprise creation that we won’t expect. The main colors of the Chanel 2010 Paris Haute Couture Show are maroon, gold, navy and brown. I think this Chanel 2010 Paris Haute Couture Collection is its beginning of new territory.

At the very beginning, Lagerfeld, underneath a massive gold lion, clutched a giant “pearl” on his left paw. It is a fantastic idea; I think the audiences on the spot are surprised at this.

A small-shouldered bolero or jacket with full and rounded sleeves which evolves into a curving line and flows into a skirt finishing just on the knee or mid-calf was usually seen on this show. This design looks elegant as well as slouchy with the “just-rolled-out-of-bed” hairstyle.

The most amazing one is Giabaconi Baptiste, as a gold and pearl-bedecked bride, emerged in the finale with a tux. She was escorted by a complete lion’s head. But it was Lagerfeld who took the crown as the king.

Diane Kruger with her Chanel dresses

As a German actress and former fashion model, obviously Diane Kruger is a fan of Chanel, and had chance to be chosen as the face of the Chanel advertising campaign before. Today let us enjoy the Chanel dresses she had to attend to public activities.

Chanel dress.jpg

Last month she arrived at the 2010 amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala held at the Hotel du Cap. At that time, she was wearing a white Chanel dress which goes well with the color of her skin. It is the white bodice paired with a black shirt and the black ribbon at the waist. She looked elegant in this white dress and chose a diamond leaf hair accessory and Segio Rossi heels to complete her look.

Chanel Fall 2009 Couture Collection .jpg

When she showed up at the 2010 edition of the Oscars, she was wearing a cream and black camellia embroidered chiffon Chanel dresses from Chanel Fall 2009 Couture Collection and she matched it with a black white diamond “Camelia Nervure” brooch in her hair, “Spirale” diamond ring, white gold and diamond “Camelia” studs from Chanel Fine Jewelry. All of these goes well together and made her look elegant, though she was not nominated for an award this year.

Chanel Cruise 2011 Show.jpg

Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson also attend Chanel Cruise 2011 Show. Though it is a warm day, she opted for a black mini dress with a textured hem from Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 Collection and just simply had black heels to match it.

Chanel Dresses in 2010 Cannes Film Festival

Cannes-Film-Festival-2010-Poster-2-535x260.jpg

Cannes Film Festival, one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious film festivals, kicked off last month. The hottest fashion and films come together in this festival, but I would like to choose some Chanel gowns I like best from those fabulous fashionable items.

Chanel Spring and Summer 2010 Haute Couture Collection.jpg

Michelle Williams wore a dress made from pink pale satin from Chanel Spring and Summer 2010 Haute Couture Collection for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of their movie, “Blue Valentine”. The color of the dress looks pretty and matches her well.

Chanel Resort 2010 Collection.jpg

Vanessa Paradis wore a multi colored shimmering halter dress from Chanel Resort 2010 Collection to attend a party which was held in Vanessa’s honour by Chanel and Madame Figaro during Cannes Film Festival. This dress looks elegant and feminine with its delicate craftsmanship and exquisite draping design.

Chanel Fall 2009 Black Jumpsuit.jpg

Kate Beckinsale wore a Chanel Fall 2009 Black Jumpsuit with Ferragamo heels for Chanel-Madame Figaro Party. This jumpsuit fits her well as well as suits her girlie style. Her hair pulled back loosely and naturally adds some femininity and charm to her ensemble.

Chanel Fall 2009 Couture.jpg

Kirsten Dunst wore a black Chanel Fall 2009 Couture at the 2010 amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala this evening. The most distinctive design of this dress is the black crystals embellished in a sheer split and cuff. She looks fantastic and elegant in this black dress.

Whitney Port With Her Chanel Flap Bag

From The Hills and The City, Whitney Port is a fan of Chanel and owns a lot of fantastic Chanel handbags. I dream that there will come a day when I can go shopping like her with my own Chanel bag. Well, Let us enjoy one of her gorgeous bags.

She was spotted shopping in Beverly Hills by carrying a Classic Chanel Flap. She looks really casual and relaxed when she wear a monochrome striped sweater with a contrasting scarf and denims with her striped flats. But the Chanel bag adds some elegance to its ensemble. She was also spotted carrying this flap bag in New York. At that time she was wearing a ragged jean and an adorable sweater which match this bag well.

This is definitely a wonderful handbag which has a flap with double C logo plaque on the front and its creamy shade makes it look more feminine and delicate. With two chain handbags it is easy to handle in the hands or over the shoulder. Chanel handbags are well-known for its simplicity and may not attract your attention at first sight but may last for a long time and is not easy to go out of trend.

Georgia May Jagger, a Chanel Girl

After seeing Georgia May Jagger , daughter of Mick Jagger & Jerry Hall, appeared in the Chanel Cruise 2011 Show I mentioned before, it may also be another surprise to us that Karl Lagerfeld choose Georgia May Jagger, to front the accompanying photos for the collection. And these were shot in a studio in the background of greenery and mountains, instead of the real backgrounds.

I admit that Georgia is a pretty girl, but she looks like a little girl in the pictures above. I think the kind of women who can afford Chanel are much older than the young ones to promote their collection.

At that Chanel Cruise 2011 Show , she was the centerpiece, outshining even the Victoria’s Secret model Karolina Kurkova. First she was attractive in a sheer cover-up and one-piece swimsuit teamed with thigh-high cream leather boots with signature flower embellishments. Then she rode on the back of a motorbike when wearing a high-neck Seventies-style fringe dress with another pair of thigh-high boots. At last she appeared gold bikini top and classic frayed tweed jacket with high-waisted brown bell-bottoms. Maybe her appearance is just as rebellious as her father once was, but she was pleased with herself as the pictures shows.

Chanel Coco Cocoon Collection with Vanessa Paradis

Last year, Chanel invited Lily Allen to model its Fall and Winter 2009 Collection, but this year, they choose Vanessa Paradis, French singer, model and actress as the new face to attend Chanel’s new Chanel Cocoon handbags in the Spring 2010 campaign. Actually Vanessa Paradis was not strange to the Chanel, and in 2004 Karl Lagerfeld appointed her as the ambassadress of the “Ligne Cambon” handbags.

This new campaign was shot by Karl Lagerfeld who was glad to collaborate with Vanessa Paradis and praised her that she is wonderful and looks natural and be harmony all round her before the studio. This campaign has signature padded style we like and takes the inspiration from the gentle feel of a blanket in soft calfskin with the diamond-shaped quilting.

The Chanel Cocoon handbags in this campaign include wallets, toiletries cases, wheeled bags, backpacks and totes in a variety of sizes and colors (black, cobalt blue, charcoal grey, light grey, silver, chocolate and ivory). They are reversible and features nylo, lambskin or washed and textured calfskin, and matt-finish alligator skin, All of which look elegant and luxurious and give a comfortable and soft touch.

Fantastic Chanel Cruise 2011 Show

QQ截图未命名1.jpg

Again Chanel had its rich fashion moment recently. Set on the French Riviera in Saint Tropez, Chanel Cruise 2011 Show reflected the 70s’ throwback party atmosphere which resembles Karl Lagerfeld’s 17-minute short film “Remember Now“.

As the sun went down, the girls arrived by the speed boats and were ready to start their show. People hanged from balconies and windows above or sat on the red director’s chairs to enjoy this fantastic time in the newly made catwalk. Just as what Karl Lagerfeld said, it is a natural place, not a bling-bling place. The lightness of the 60’s inspired pieces may bring you back to a time of freedom.

Natasha Poly in a pastel print dress was the first one to begin this show. And then there were so many girls appeared in this show. As we had suspected, plus-size model Crystal Renn attended, and Karl Lagerfeld gave her three outfits, the first in a fuchsia cardigan with a bleached denim mini-skirt and thigh-high black boots, the second in a black-and-white one-sleeve one-piece and the final one in a sandy ruffled blouse with ankle-length loose trousers. All of them were suitable for her and matched well.

I think the high tide of this show is Lagerfeld’s bodyguard Sebastien Jondeau pulling up on a motorcycle with Georgia May Jagger on the back. At last, Lagerfeld appeared in a purple jacket.

Chanel Gowns in 2010 Costume Institute Gala

The Costume Institute Gala Benefit was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art last week and I would like to put it above the Oscars, for I think it is one of the most lavish and exciting events and ladies are trying to show their fashion than any other award shows. Here I would like to choose two of them to say, the best and the worst.

caaad293ef5a53b7_Anna-Wintour.jpg

I like the ensemble of American Vogue editirix and super scary fashion person Anna Wintour. She has been personally dressed by Karl Lagerfeld for every year. And this time she was wearing a light silver ruched Chanel gown which I think is a great choice for her and a structured metallic overcoat which adds a Victorian aura to her whole outfits. I should also mention the chunky mixed metal necklace and she looks great in them.

Costume-Institute-Gala-Kstew2.jpg

Kristen Stewart is on my worst, for she was wearing a black taffeta and tulle embroidered Chanel gown which belongs to Chanel Spring 2008 Couture Dress. Though this gown belongs to Chanel, personally I do not like it, especially the pointy neckline. She matched it with Sergio Rossi heels and a Chanel clutch.

The Secrets of Chanel Bags

Chanel has become an iconic brand and the desire for many women for more than half a century. Like Louis Vuitton and Gucci have released some designs which combined the storied pasts with the modern elements, Chanel also tried to achieve these.

From this Saturday the 8th to Sunday the 16th, Chanel will announce its 57th Street flapship store and hold an exhibition “The Secrets of the Chanel Handbag“. I think it is a great opportunity to get to know more details about Chanel, if you are in New York City, drop and have a look.

Chanel-Handbag-Exhibit.jpg

As we all known that Mademoiselle Chanel first introduced her timeless shoulder bag in 1929, and then she did not continue his idea until the bag, commonly known as the 2.55, are created in Feb,1955. In this exhibition, Chanel fashion house will demonstrate the construction and history of the iconic purses to shoppers as well as Chanel owners. It will explain how your dreamy bags are built and how they’ve changed over the past half a century as well as some present Karl Lagerfeld’s designs. This is not an ordinary history lesson, for you will definitely appreciate the price tag way more after your visit.

Timeless Classic Chanel 2.55

Many handbags which were once popular in the fashion tide have disappear, while some classic are everlasting, and Chanel 2.55 is just this type which are the necessary collection and pursuit for every woman, as bag to woman is like automobile to man acting huge magic.

Launched in February 1955, Chanel 2.55 is well-known for its simplicity and elegance and still remains stylish as it was launched more than 50 years ago. There is a long story to describe the original 2.55. It features the 2.55 front lock on the front, named “the Mademoiselle Lock“, is different from the classic double CC logo and the lining’s brown color which shows the color of the uniforms from the convent where she grew up. As Coco Chanel liked to hide her love letters from her lover at that time, there is a zippered compartment at the inside of the front flap. And Ms Chanel stashed extra money at the back outside flap on the handbag. That is why she designed this kind of handbag.

In fall 2005, Karl Lagerfeld re-released the Chanel 2.55 in order to celebrate its 50th anniversary, and the new design feature a turn clasp instead of the CC clasp which is more appealing.
