Jade is still valued for its beauty today, not only in China but also around the world. But the color jade green is not so popular. People always say green represents nature and energy, people like to see green color but never like to wear green clothes. Because if not matching well, it will looks rustic. In a word, green is a beautiful contradiction: alien and earthy, irreverent and inviting. However, Chanel, the top fashion house, has still shown its incomparable style sense on this color.
Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, has launched this fantastic Chanel Jade Nail Collection, comprised of two limited edition nail enamels—”Jade” and “Jade Rose”, made a retail debut on September 10th at the Chanel Soho Boutique in New York City in celebration of Vogue’s Fashion Night Out. And the next day it had been sold for limited time exclusively at www.chanel.com, Chanel Makeup Studios and Chanel boutiques for $25.00.
Before that Chanel Jade Green Nail Polish was first spotted in Fall 2009 runway, and according to Beauty Counter there would be a Jade Rose shade as well. So under such hype, how could you filter this information? However, I adore this nail collection so much. Adding some cream color, the jade green is neither so glaring as bright green nor too dimmish as cyan. “For the nails, Karl wanted a green shade to evoke the jade notes of the collection. I worked with our laboratories to offer him a monochromatic palette of 10 green shades. We chose the color that most resembled the green tweed skirt suit from the collection,” explains Peter Philips.
Although the jade green with some minty fresh is very charming, I would still choose the jade rose one. For the green is too over for me, the rose one, with kinda strawberry icecream, might be easier to match and pleasing to look. What about you? Which one do you prefer?
